We love awards ceremonies. They are an opportunity to talk to the people behind innovation in healthcare and recognise their commitment to helping the NHS to provide excellent health and care services.
A week after our CEO, Chris Barker, was nominated as one of the top 50 most ambitious business leaders, Spirit Health won the ‘Collaboration with the NHS’ category at the Medilink UK Healthcare Virtual Business Awards 2020.
We are especially delighted to have won the Collaboration with the NHS Award. The reason that Spirit exists is to make health easy for healthcare services and their patients. It underpins everything we do, whether that is providing primary care and health education services, saving the NHS millions of pounds, or helping vulnerable people to self-manage their long-term conditions from the safety of their homes.
And the 190 people participating in the ceremony were safely at home too. Due to COVID-19 and social distancing, this award ceremony was different from the usual black tie and ball gown glitz. We were all sitting in front of computer screens around the world (our host – comedian and freestyle rapper, Chris Turner, was in Aspen Colorado), brought together virtually to celebrate a multitude of achievements and outstanding contributions to the Life Sciences industry.
Nadine Miles, Director of Market Development at Spirit Health, accepted the award and said;
“Thank you to the amazing and brilliant team at Spirit Health, and the awesome and dedicated people we’ve worked with at the NHS. Every single member of the Spirit family has played a role in our success.”
Medilink did a fantastic job of hosting a virtual awards ceremony – with the bonus of only having to dress up from the waist up. There were several confessions afterwards of wearing comfy clothes and slippers below the desk where the webcam cannot see.
We congratulate all the wonderful organisations who were nominated, those who were highly commended and all the winners too. Let’s hope we can get together in person next year to celebrate success and innovation in the healthcare industry.
